Dear Everyone:

I am a system integrator with many year of experience in SCADA and PLC. I am looking for an app that can run in my iPhone and talk to the remote PLC that is connected to the cellular router.
I hope I am in the right website.
Have a nice day!

Dear Sir/Madam:

At a remote location, I have two Allen Bradley PLCs that are hardwired to a cellular router. Each PLC has a seperate Ethernet IP address. I've had forwarded the IP address of each PLC to the router's public IP address. Such as 70.18.20.20:3846 for PLC1 and 70.18.20.20:3847 for PLC 2.
After I use the TeslaSCADA IDE to create an application on my desktop, I download the application to my Iphone. How can I configure the Allen Bradley driver on the cell phone to talk to the PLC with the public IP address? Can my cell phone talk to both PLCs at the same time?

Best Regards,
Robert Tran

Dear Mr. Tran,

It should work if you use "white" external IP address. You can test your project on desktop TeslaSCADA Runtime first before uploading it on iPhone. If it work on desktop version it will work on iPhone also. Maybe it's better to use our TeslaCloud solution for your purpose (our cloud or deploy your own). By using this solution you can connect to AB PLC locally and provide date on TeslaCloud. For connection to TeslaCloud you can use MQTT protocol for your purposes.

Best regards,
Ruslan

Rusian:

If I use the iPhone to communicate directly to the remote PLC without using the computer server, there are several questions:
1) Can the Mobile TeslaSCADA runtime send out SMS message to multiple cell phones when there is an alarm?
2) Can the Mobile TeslaSCADA runtime display the historical trending of analog data. If yes, how many days the data shall be stored in the cell phone?
3) Mobile TeslaSCADA runtime generate monthly report in the Excel or CVS format of the data such as flow rate and tank level?

Dear Mr. Tran,

1) No, mobile phone can't send SMS messages.
2) Historical data can be stored in SQLLite database on iPhone. The storage period depends on iPhone memory capacity.
3) No, iPhone version can't generate reports.

Best regards,
Ruslan

Rusian:
Teslacloud seems like a good idea. But the sampling rate is too low (1 record per minute). Can I increase the sampling rate by runing my own TeslaClould Standalone Server?
